Dallas, TX, February 16, 2011—The DALLAS Film Society announced today that leading luxury auto brand CADILLAC will be the presenting sponsor of the 2011 DALLAS International Film Festival (March 31 – April 10, 2011). This marks the first time since the festival’s inception that an automotive company has sponsored the DALLAS International Film Festival at this prestigious level.
In the last ten years, Cadillac, through the Metroplex Cadillac Dealers, has played an integral role in community service initiatives throughout North Texas by giving back to major arts organizations and enriching the community by raising awareness for these charities. As presenting sponsor of the DALLAS International Film Festival, Cadillac’s involvement promises to propel the festival into its fifth and most successful year to date.
“We recognize the importance of supporting the artistic talent in our North Texas community, through art education and charitable contribution. We are proud to be able to make a difference as we celebrate those with a passion for visual and performing arts,” explains Tom D’Angelo, Regional Marketing Manager for Cadillac in the South Central Region. “And, the DALLAS International Film Festival has honored Cadillac with this important opportunity to give back to the community and showcase some new entrants in the history of film making.”
Metroplex Cadillac Dealers will provide the festival with a Cadillac fleet to transport filmmakers and festival guests around Dallas for the entire 11-day duration. “Being able to offer luxurious ground transport to our filmmakers and VIPs is an incredible asset for the festival,” said Tanya Foster, President and CEO of the DALLAS Film Society. “The festival prides itself on great hospitality, so what a better way to provide this than offering our filmmakers the chance to experience the cultural map of Dallas in comfort. Furthermore, Cadillac cares as much as we do about supporting artistic achievements and this makes our mission to honor those who dedicate their lives to film and filmmaking even more rewarding.”
To entice festival audiences even further, the DALLAS Film Society has launched a raffle for one lucky winner to walk away with a 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe. On February 10, a CTS Coupe was unveiled at an ultra chic festival kick-off party at Stanley Korshak in Dallas. 1,000 raffle tickets have gone on sale for $100 each or 6 for $500 (for information on how to purchase a ticket visit www.dallasfilm.org). The winner will be announced at the DALLAS Film Society Honors on April 8, 2011.
“Cadillac is proud to be affiliated with this one of kind event,” concludes D’Angelo. “When you think of film, you think of Hollywood and red carpet arrivals. It’s a natural fit for Cadillac. More importantly, the art of film brings a concept to life with artistic design and masterful craftsmanship and this is exactly what Cadillac stands for.”
